Quelle journée!

I had a very busy day today!  I had my classes basically all day long.  Good news is that I somehow got a B+ and a B on my two history papers.  I thought they were terrible.  Maybe I really am getting better at writing! :)

For architecture, we studied Les Halles and the Pompidou Center.  Les Halles is not only an underground shopping mall, but it also has one of the most travelled through metro stations in Europe.  NEVER GO THERE.  It is so so busy and you walk for miles to get to your metro.  I do everything to avoid this metro station.  The mall is highly recommended though :D But right now, there are doing a lot of renovation above Les Halles, transforming the outside into a garden.  It won't be done until December 2013, but the plans look great.  For some reason though, we watched a movie in class all about Pompidou so we only were out of the class for an hour instead of the usual 2 hours.  I was kind of glad because it was a bit cold today.  Just when my parents leave the weather decides to get cold again.  Guess that means they should come back!

After class, we walked over to Chartier for dinner with Lisa and her two friends.  They are just in Paris for the weekend and this was the only time I'd be able to see Lisa since I'm leaving for London tomorrow.  We had a delicious dinner, as usual.  Then, Danielle and I had to go to a play for our conversation class.  As we were walking to the metro, we saw a bunch of cop cars and some guy getting arrested.  I think he was homeless.  I was a little nervous, but we ran into the metro quickly!  We were running late since the metro decided not to come for 5 minutes and there were TONS of people on it.  We found the street the theater was on pretty easily, luckily, and ran to meet up with everyone else.  It was a very small theater in Belleville.  I bet only 7-10 people were there besides in addition to my class of about 8.  The play was called Baba, La France and was a one man show about the Algerian War.  It is the 2nd play in a trilogy.  I'm not even sure if I'd call it a play being that it was more of a dialog.  It was pretty hard to understand, but i got the gist of it.  Afterwards, the actor came out to a cafe with us to explain the background of the play.  He was really nice and we found out that he wrote all three of the books and does the plays based off of the books.  He is really talented!  It was really interseting to sit and talk with him and was extremely helpful to clarify the things that we didn't understand.

With all this, I didn't get home until 10:45pm!  I had to shower and finish packing for London, but now am all set to get up and go!  I will be in London until Tuesday night.  I'm very excited to eat Cadbury Eggs and spend Easter there.  It should be a fun long weekend.

Joyeuses Pâques tout le monde! <3
