Barcelona is a pretty interesting place to say the least.
We had a wonderful day soaking up the Spanish sun! We walked from our apartment over to the beach. It is probably about a 20 minute walk and we saw lots of cool things on the way. The Gaudi castle is right by our apartment and is really awesome. We'll have to go closer over the next few days.
We stopped for churros and chocolate for brunch on the way to the beach. We were pretty full and headed over to the port. We found the beach quickly and picked a nice spot by the water. Quickly after, people kept harassing us for "massagies," henna tattoos, blanket things, beers...everything imaginable and it was NONSTOP. Kind of annoying, but the hot sun made up for it!
We found a place for nachos for a late lunch and then headed back to the beach for a few more hours. We came back to the apartment to freshen up and shower before going out to dinner. We tried a place that our apartment owner recommended that is right around the corner for us called Melic del Gotic and it was one of the best meals I ever had! We had some cataluna bread for an appetizer, sangria, grilled potatoes with oil and steak. I didn't want the meal to end. We may be making another appearance since it was so affordable and DELICIOUS. Highly highly recommended.
After dinner, we headed to ramble down La Rambla. Bad idea. We were in a sharktank with all the guys hitting on us. We couldn't even peacefully look in a souvenir shop with them trying to lower prices for us..Needless to say, we ran away pretty quickly!
Great first day in the Spanish sun!
