Overall, we had a great time in Athens. It is a wonderful city but it was also sad to see all of the run down buildings. We drove past the olympic stadium and it was almost in ruins! It looked terrible. It is a shame they can't afford to keep nice.
We had to be up bright and early for the ferry to Mykonos. Everything worked out great. We didn't have actual seats, so we sat at a table and I pulled another chair over to sleep for a bit. Before that, since bread boy wasn't at the port, we had spinach pita things for breakfast. They were delicious :) After stopping at one of the ports, we had some french fries as well to hold us over. We had another stop before Mykonos, but it went rather quickly!
We found our shuttle to the hotel very easily and met some other kids from USC California on their spring break as well. We got our cute little room, just steps from the beach! Next step was the beach all afternoon!! Finally :D It was so WARM
We then tried renting a scooter, but you only could rent if you had experience so we got the ATV bike. I had to drive since I signed the contract. It went surprisingly well and was so so much fun! We went into town and stopped at Scarpa for a drink. They were very expensive, but delicious! Mine was called a Woo-Woo! Then we did some shopping and found a little restaurant La Casa for dinner. The waiter gave us free shots of something after dinner. Not too sure what it was, but I KNOW it wasn't ouzo. Then, we did some more shopping and walked around. It was a beautiful at nighttime! We headed back around 9 and had to drive the darn ATV in the dark! Luckily, I'm a good driver so it went great! We went to bed early and still didn't want to get up early this morning. Vacation is tiring!
We had a free little breakfast from the hotel right on the beach and then headed back into the town for the morning. I got some sesame seed bread from a little bakery and we looked around a bit more. We found a beautiful hidden cove type thing that we will be having a photo shoot at very soon! ;) I will be posting tons of pictures when we get back, don't you worry! We had lunch at a cute little tavern by the bus stop and then were on a mission to fill up the ATV to bring it back. Found the gas station easily, surprisingly and went back to our hotel. Unfortunately, it was a bit colder out today so the beach wasn't too nice. So so windy. We still stayed for a while and then bundled up to get some greek salad at the mini market on the beach. We will probably just go for a walk later and head into town tomorrow on the bus since it'll be rainy :( but that's ok! We are in Mykonos!
P.S. I am sitting on the beach right now and happened to just see a man only in a towel running by. A few minutes later, that same man was wearing just underwear. We're hoping the victory lap does not involve him being naked...only in Mykonos!
Updates soon! Many kisses :*
