Mes parents sont partis

I've been so busy that I haven't had time to upload my blog.  Where to start...

Monday morning, I had a delicious breakfast with my parents from a bakery nearby their house.  I headed off to classes for the day and they went to the Louvre.  I was supposed to meet them outside my school at 8pm, but they were not there when I got out.  I was a little nervous, but I figured they'd be there in a few minutes.  Time keeps on passing and they were no where in site.  I am getting really worried and I have no way to call them.  I keep walking down the main street to check if they are coming.  Now it's getting late; almost 9pm.  I stand outside my school building contemplating on what I should do.  And all of a sudden, I see a man running down the street...what do you know? It was Daddy!  Goodness, never been happier to see them in my life.  They got very very lost finding my school.  I felt so bad since it's hard to get around Paris and the street names change all the time.  We walked over to a really good French restaurant just to find a line down the street!  We couldn't go there, so we went back to the burger place we ate at the first day.  Definitely didn't disappoint.

Tuesday was a busy day.  I had class until 11am and took the metro to meet my parents in the Latin Quarter.  Luckily, they were there waiting for me this time!  We walked around and did some shopping.  We stopped in this adorable botique and got a lot of really cool things.  THe woman who owned it was so kind and only spoke to me in French.  She told me I spoke very well, so I was happy!  Dad, of course, made some jokes to her in French, so she got a kick out of us.

Then for lunch, I took them to Au P'tit Grec, my favorite crepe place.  They loved it!  I was so glad.  We walked around a little more before I had to leave at 1:15pm to go to the school I teach at for the last time.

This class was by far my favorite.  The kids are just wonderful.  They all have a great sense of humor and make me laugh the entire time.  They were exceptionally chatty, as well.  I was glad they were finally comfortable around me, but upset at the same time that I wouldn't be back.  The first group stayed after class to discuss the differences between the notation in the French and English math system.  It was really cool to learn!  One of the boys also told me he'd be in NY and San Francisco this summer, just like me, so I have his email address.  It'd be pretty awesome to meet up with him in the US!  The second group as well didn't want to leave.  They all gave me their phone numbers and Facebook names so we could stay in touch.  The teacher even gave me a little present.  She is the sweetest lady ever.  I really wish I didn't have to stop teaching!  Next week, the teacher invited us over to her house for drinks and dinner.  So kind!

I met back up with my parents later and we walked over to the restaurant, Chartier, we wanted to go to on Monday night.  We got there at about 6:30pm and got seated right away.  It's so funny that the French sit two couples at the same 4 person table.  Talk about not having any personal space!  Luckily, we were three :)  Chartier by far has the best escargot EVER.  We ordered 12 to start.  Can't even describe how good they are.  Father should not be allowed to order them.  He couldn't get them out of the shell, and when he finally tried, he cracked the entire shell.  Oh boy!!

We headed back to their appartment for some tea and my mom dyed my hair a bit darker.  I was so sad when I had to leave them!  I have the best parents in the world and I wish they could stay with me in Paris.  But I'll be home before I know it, I guess.  It's a happy and sad thought...

I got settled in back at my house and went to bed pretty late.  I had one class this morning and our teacher made us carrot fig cake.  It was so delicious!  Then, I was off to meet up with Uncle Chico and Kathy!  I found their hotel rather easily and we chatted in the room for a bit.  Kathy was very tired, so Uncle Chico and I went on a walk.  We walked through the Luxembourg Gardens all the way to the Latin Quarter.  We ate at a cute little Greek place.  I finally got a salad that wasn't too expensive and had the spinach pie.  Yum.  Can't believe I will be in Greece in 9 days.  WOW!

But anyways, then we had a long way back.  Kathy was still a bit tired, so we sat downstairs in the lobby and talked for a while.  Kathy came down a little bit later and shortly after, their two other friends they were traveling with came down as well.  We all went out to dinner at a really good cafe.  I wasn't too hungry since we had lunch pretty late.  I just got a toasted bread with some cheese and tomatoes and a little salad.  It was relaie good.  My Uncle's friends are so so sweet so we all had a very nice time!

A Bientôt!
