Well, it's official. My last weekend in Paris is just about over. WOW! It was a good one, however!
Kristin and her friend Meredith came to visit Paris. Danielle and I met up with them on Friday after class at musee d'orsay just as they were finishing. We stopped for some coffee at a little cafe near by and after, headed over to the Louvre to walk around outside. We stayed there for a bit, and took off to Montmartre/Sacre Coeur. It was a lot of fun. We tried to find the corner where Owen Wilson sat each night at midnight in the movie Midnight In Paris. Unfortunately, we weren't too successful. They all looked the same.
For dinner, we went to our favorite place: FONDUE! Delicious as always. After dinner, we stopped by Moulin Rouge and then found the Chupitos in Paris. It is the same one that we went to in Barcelona, but of course, it is 50 cents more in Paris for shots. Figures. We just had one drink because it was SO crowded and so hot. We stopped in another bar for a drink and then called it a night.
The next morning, we met for lunch on the Champs-Elysee. I've been to the little cafe/restaurant a few times. It's very good and pretty afordable for being right by the Arc de Triomphe. Notre Dame was our next stop, and we had to go to Berthillion as well. There was a good 10-15 minute line! Totally worth it though. I tried the chocolate and the strawberry. Delish! And I usually don't like chocolate ice cream, but let me tell you, this was SO good. We brought Kristin and Meredith to Paul, our favorite bakery so they could try some macaroons. Since it was a bit early and we weren't too hungry, we stopped for Happy Hour margaritas at a bar on Rue des Petits Carreaux, close by Paul. After, it was dinner time. We went for crepes. They seemed to really like them, especially because they are cheap! Another delicious meal. I'm going to miss all this good food!
We were invited over Olivier's house for une petite soirée with some of our other French friends. It was a lot of fun. Kristin and Meredith got a kick out of the boys as well. It's great when they speak English and make fun of us all the time. I think we'll be seeing them one more time before we go! I'm not going to like goodbyes....
This morning after church, I met the girls at Centre Pompidou and we walked around there for a while. It is by far my favorite museum in Paris. I just love it. I have to check out the MOMA in the city. Maybe it'll be similar. I'm sure not as good, though. For lunch, it was Bistro Burger. My favorite burger place in Paris. Unfortunately, I had to come back to study and Kristin and Meredith had to head back to Germany. It was a great last weekend, though and I was glad I got to spend it with some of my favorite people!
Happy Mother's Day Mom! I love you so much and can't wait to be home with you. And a shout out to all the other mom's out there. Hope you all had a wonderful day!
Bisous!
