Le compte à rebours final

It's been pretty hectic getting back to my normal schedule in Paris.  I've been so tired and I think I'm getting sick.  Hopefully it passes!

After I came home on Monday, I unpacked, showered, and got ready to meet my friend Kristina, who was visiting Paris from the US during her break before her finals.  She was leaving Tuesday morning for London, so I wanted to see her before she left!  I met her around 6pm at the Louvre and her other friend who is studying in Paris came shortly after me.  It unfortunately started to rain, but it was still a fun time.  We walked over to Rue Cler for dinner at a cute cafe.  I was missing Italy so much, so I ordered pizza.  Almost as good!  It was nice catching up with her and meeting a new person as well!

When I got back to my house, it was around 9:45pm and my host sister came out of the kitchen to tell me she was having a small party and I could come down and hang out with all her friends.  I assumed my host parents were still on vacation.  I went up to my room for a bit to settle in, and the doorbell just kept ringing.  Small party?  I think not.  She came up to my room about a half hour later and introduced me to her two best friends and told me to come downstairs.  There were so many people there!  I couldn't believe it.  They are all so sweet and compliment my French.  Most of them spoke English as well, so it works out.  The house was such a disaster.  Kids were spilling things all over and the floor was so sticky!  Lots of kids were very drunk, as well.  I thought the French were calmer than us!  Apparently not!

I heard my host sister get up super early the next morning to clean the house since my host parents were coming home.  It was May Day, so everything in France was basically closed.  I went over to my French friend Olivier's house and a few other of our friends were there.  We showed them how to make jello since there isn't jello in France. They were amazed!  Théo kept calling it J-Lo and made sure we knew it was like Jennifer Lopez.  While we waited for the jello, we watched Hairspray!  I wanted to watch the French version, but they told me it was horrible since they translate the songs.  I settled with some subtitles.  Overall, it was a fun day!

Yesterday, I had one class and then did tons of shopping for gifts to bring home.  I'm running out of time!  I got lots of things and am basically done shopping now.  The only bad thing is that my wheely carry on suitcase is filled with gifts and souvenirs.  I hope I have enough room for all my clothes!

Today is a fun filled day with tons of classes.  So sick of them!  Almost done, though.  Going to have a lot of work right up until the end, unfortunately.

SEIZE jours

Bisous!
